Strong effort and PR at Bradley Pink Classic

Even while not at 100%, two Cyclones put in smart efforts, and one earned a personal best, at the Bradley Pink Classic at Bradley University Newman Golf Course in Peoria in order to prepare for the conference and region championships.

Olivia Wrobel and Jasmeene Guido were able to run while Natalia Wrobel nursed some aches. Neither of the women are fully healthy, but they toed the line and put in the work.

Wrobel just missed running her fastest time, finishing in 26:56 for 142nd place out of 190 runners over the 6K course while Guido earned a PR – 32:39 for 178th place. Guido has been injured but continues to improve every week.

"We knew the course and competition would help pull them to fast times, and that's how it played out. Both ran well and smart. They started off controlled and passed runners throughout the race," said Head Coach Dimitri Dimizas. "We have the conference championship next, and all three women will be ready to go."

The Cyclones will host the Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference Championships on campus on Saturday, Oct. 22. The women start at 11 a.m.
