Personal bests at Gil Dodds

The running Cyclones put in a fighting effort at the Gil Dodds Invitational at Wheaton College at St. James Farm in Warrenville with each earning a personal best.

Both Natalia Wrobel and Olivia Wrobel battled through a large field of runners and were the only ones representing a community college, but they had strong finishes. Natalia crossed the line in 122nd place out of 240 runners in 26:11 while Olivia ran to 144th place in 26:45.

"I am very happy with how they performed. They both overcame mental obstacles during the race, which often times is a victory in itself. Because of the course and the large field, they had to go out a little faster than we would have liked. They stayed controlled in the middle of the race, toughed it out, and finished their last 1,000 meters very well, passing people in the final stretch," said Head Coach Dimitri Dimizas. "We have a week off from racing and then the toughest course on our schedule coming up, so I'm looking forward to how they'll approach it."
