Tenth place in the nation

Coming off two big wins at the national tournament, the No. 13 seed Cyclones ran out of juice in their final match with Catawba Valley Community College in the nine-place match final.

The last time these two teams met was at the national tournament in 2013, where the Cyclones won in four. The 10th-seeded Red Hawks put up a good fight against a tired squad that was off their game after two intense and hard-fought wins the day before. Even in the loss, the Cyclones stayed within range and kept the sets tight. Noelle Knezz paced her team with 10 kills and three blocks, receiving a nod to the All-Tournament team for her overall performance. Elizabeth Coffey added nine kills and four blocks.

This match ended the Cyclones' season, but saw them finish in 10th place nationally, one of their best finishes at the national tournament.
