Splitsville at tri-match

In their tri-match at home Sept. 7, the Cyclones put up a good fight, splitting two.

They won the first match against College of DuPage: 25-20, 25-14, 25-13. Each player did their part, but had some lackluster moments that ignited a fighting effort near the end. Abbi Fletcher had 12 digs and Noelle Knezz had six aces. Collectively the team had six blocks.

In their second match, Moraine Valley was dealt a five-set loss to Southeastern Community College (Iowa): 19-25, 25-14, 25-27, 25-22, 10-15. This wasn't their best performance and should have been a second win. As a generally young team, they're still adjusting to college-level ball, learning and working out the kinks that should come together for the more critical upcoming conference matches.
