Cyclone battle on the courts comes up short

All season long the Cyclones have battled through tough opponents and injury. They put up another good fight with Olivet Nazarene University last night, but came up just short in the 4-5 loss.

Through strong wins, Brooke Zielke won at first singles (6-0, 6-2), Jasmine Abunaim continued her unbeaten streak at second singles with doubles bagels (6-0 6-0) and the pair at first singles remained undefeated as well in an 8-2 proset victory against solid opponents. Mary Stocklen added the other win at fifth singles (6-4, 6-1).

Serene Itani (third singles) lost 1-6, 3-6, Audrey Stocklen (fourth singles) fell 1-6, 1-6 and Summar Hasan (sixth singles) lost 1-6, 0-6. At second doubles, Mary Stocklen and Itani went down 0-8 against a strong duo while Audrey Stocklen and Hasan battled in their 3-8 loss.

"It was overall a good match despite losing. It was insanely windy so it was a great learning experience for the players. They had to really adjust their game in order to be more accurate in the conditions. It also was a good match to prepare us for our tournament next week," said head Coach Breanna Vollan.
