Jen Latoza wins it with a corner kick in 2OT

Jenifer Latoza was the hero with the winning goal in her team's 3-2 win in double overtime with Muskegon Community College.

This was a good win against a good team. The Cyclones got off to another slow start and gave up an early goal. They bounced back within 20 minutes thanks to Madi Davis, who looped a far shot to make it 1-1. However, the Jayhawks scored again to go up 2-1 right before halftime.

Moraine Valley came back determined and dominated the second half. Seeing several chances, Allison Schaar finally scored with eight minutes left to send it into overtime. After the first scoreless overtime ended, the Cyclones entered the second one hungry for a goal. With five minutes left in the game, Latoza hit a corner kick that landed perfectly in the bottom corner to end the game 3-2.

"I thought we played well enough in a game like this to find a way to win it at the end. We came back twice from being behind, which is awesome to know we can always respond and don't shut down," said Head Coach Al Palar. "We have played eight games in 22 days. In those games, we played three with only 11 healthy players, three with 12 healthy players and two with 13 to 14. To go 6-2 during that stretch, playing some really good teams, is great. I'm really looking forward to a small break in a couple weeks before the Region IV tournament."
