And the shutouts continue

In their six games this season, the Cyclones have allowed just one goal, holding five teams goalless including Prairie State College after a 6-0 victory at home last night.

Even with a number of key starters out due to injury, the Cyclones took off with energy and scored within the first 45 seconds of the game. They notched three more before halftime, then two in the second half and wouldn't let the Pioneers get close to the net. Head Coach Al Palar emphasizes that his team maintain a mindset that the opponent will not score, and it's not just up to the keeper and defense, but all 22 players. With a strong team on and off the bench, they have proven that attitude so far.

Veronika Stafira scored twice this game while Karen Montoya, Yesenia Perez, Anna Kois and Mairead Ruane each netted one.

"This was a good conference win for us. We can't seem to stay healthy though. We pick up a key injury every game. We have a big game Saturday, hopefully we can at least get a player or two healthy for that one," Palar said.
