Cyclones hold off Bulldogs

An early deficit couldn't stop the Cyclones from tacking on another victory, as they held off the South Suburban College Bulldogs 81-73.

A slow defensive start by the Cyclones found them down 12 after the end of the first quarter. South Suburban's five threes did most of the damage. After a renewed commitment to closing out the Bulldog shooters in the second quarter, Moraine Valley was able to hold them to seven points and build their own lead (42-36) going into halftime. The Cyclones led by as much as 13, and generally held a double-digit lead until the end.

Kirsten Kamholz led the effort with 23 points (6-for-10 from the three-point line) and eight rebounds. Chelsea Cross added 17 points. Nicole Poole finished with 13 points and Kaeli Ford added a double-double (10 points, 10 rebounds).
