Low scoring still equals win

In their lowest scoring game of the season, the Cyclones pulled together a strong third quarter to help them surpass Kennedy-King College 54-37.

The two teams battled through a very physical game, which saw a 16-all tie after the first quarter. The second quarter was similar, but the Cyclones were able to gain a two-point advantage going into halftime. It was the 17-6 third quarter that helped Moraine Valley pull away and eventually earn the win. What helped was rebounding. The Cyclones out rebounded the Statesmen 76-43 with a season high 34 collective offensive rebounds this game.

Kirsten Kamholz led in every major category (11 points, 13 rebounds, five assists, four steals and two blocks). Erin Greenfield added a double-double (10 points, 11 rebounds) and Nicole Poole chipped in 11 rebounds, seven points and two blocks.
