Hunter becomes No. 2 all-time scorer in Cyclone win

Ashley Hunter continues to break records while helping her team win this year. Last night, she became the second all-time leading scorer in Moraine Valley women's basketball history.

The No. 3 Cyclones solidly defeated College of Lake County 72-39, but the real excitement came from Hunter. She only needed 19 points, but tallied 20 to surpass LaVetta Mitchell's record 1,051 career points. She now has 1,053 points with more games left to play.

Right from the start, the Cyclones went on a 13-0 run, holding the Lancers to just 17 points in the first half. It was really the 25-6 third quarter that put the game away and gave Moraine Valley their 28th victory.

All 10 Cyclones found the scoring column in this game. Julia Ruzevich added 15 points and seven rebounds while Destiny Thames earned a double-double with 10 points and a team-high 13 rebounds. Kate Ruzevich pulled down seven rebounds as well.
