Ashley Hunter earned her 1,000th-career point as she led her team to an 80-57 victory over the visiting Elgin Community College Spartans.
In another dominating performance, the Cyclones took control of the game early in part thanks to Hunter, who led the team with 17 points and three steals. That offense gave her 1,001 points for her career, becoming only the fourth player in Moraine Valley history to achieve such a feat. She follows Erin Drynan (1,048), Moraine Valley Hall of Famer LaVetta Mitchell (1051) and Michelle Borgen (1,514).
Kate Ruzevich added another double-double (16 points, 14 rebounds) and Hennessey Handy finished with 15 points and five assists. Julia Ruzevich tallied 13 points, nine rebounds and seven assists while defending Elgin's best scorer the entire night.
