Koran pitches perfect game in Cyclone sweep

A perfect game followed by a hitting barrage highlighted the Cyclones' sweep of College of Lake County.

GAME 1
Abigail Koran controlled the plate and allowed no hits or walks while striking out 12 in the 1-0 victory. However, the Lancers also sat down a few Cyclones. The team mustered five hits from Arianna Andersen, Alexandria Palumbo, Danielle Travis, Emily Madrigal (3B) and Abbie Wantroba (2B). Only Travis was able to score the lone run in the third inning to capture the win.

GAME 2
The bats came alive this game with the Cyclones taking a decisive 8-2 win from the Lancers. Emily Koprowski hit a run-scoring sac fly in the second inning to get her team ahead 1-0. Then a big four-run inning, led by Emily Manso (2-for4), Wantroba (2-for-3) and Koprowski (1-for-3, 3 RBIs), helped elevate the lead. The Lancers earned their lone runs in the fourth inning, but the Cyclones answered with three more in the fifth.

Kara Riordan (3-for-5), Andersen (1-for-5) and Travis (2-for-5) each scored an RBI in this win. Ashley Roberts led the way, allowing eight hits and two runs while striking out two.
