The Cyclones were not playing like the same team they have been in their latest doubleheader loss to Triton College.
Although Moraine Valley mustered 18 hits over both games thanks to some big hits from Emily Gorski and Abbie Wantroba, they committed a number of errors on the field that allowed the Trojans to rack up runs. The Cyclones lost 14-4 and 17-5.
In the first game Gorski (2 RBIs) and Brianna Dvorak each went 2-for-3. Danielle Travis (2B) and Wantroba each drove in the additional runs. If not for a six-inning rout from the Trojans, the Cyclones were still in this game.
The Cyclones were on par early in the nightcap until a flooded third inning where the Trojans scored eight. Errors hurt the Cyclones. At the plate, Wantroba drove in a run on a single in the bottom of the first. Gorski had another big game, going 2-for-3 with 3 RBIs. Travis (2B) also earned another RBI.
