All seven Cyclone runners were finally healthy enough to compete this season, and they didn't disappoint. They took fourth out of 10 teams at the Warrior Invitational in Wisconsin (Sept. 29).

The competition was fierce in Wisconsin, but David Alvarez was again able to run a smart race and blaze into third in 27:10. Crossing the line after him was Diego Arana (11th, 28:04), John Donovan (22nd, 29:33), Ettore Gaytan (42nd, 31:35), Salah Mustafa (44th, 32:27), Justin George (45th, 32:31) and Isaiah Flores (51st, 34:07).

"Alvarez ran such a smart race. He went out controlled and started moving up throughout the race. He made a move in the homestretch to move in to second place but couldn't quite hold it. It'll be a learning experience for him," said head Coach Dimitri Dimizas. "These weren't our fastest times, but I wasn't expecting them to be. We're still working on closing the gap between JD and the back four, but we'll get there."
