As soon as their season started, it was over. The Cyclones battled through some long matches between April 25 and 26 at the NJCAA Region 4 Championship, finishing in fourth place overall.
The Cyclones earned their third consecutive win, going 8-1 over Illinois Valley Community College as they head into the NJCAA Region 4 tournament this weekend.
Always a tough team to face, the Cyclones were able to pull out one win in their 8-1 loss against conference rival College of Lake County on Sophomore Day.
The battle was on between the Cyclones and conference rival McHenry County College. It all came down to the doubles matches, where the Cyclones faltered and lost 6-3.
In their home and season opener, the Cyclones had a tough battle in chilly and breezy conditions with Oakton College. Despite battling through some three-set tiebreakers, Moraine Valley narrowly fell 5-4.
Head Coach Nick Karczynski inherited a robust, talented roster when he became the latest Cyclones men’s tennis coach, adding to the excitement of the upcoming season.
