James Goich earns All-Conference in final Skyway outing

Having the perfect day for a round, the Cyclones played their final Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference match yesterday at the Sportsman's Country Club in Northbrook. They took fourth with James Goich securing eighth place overall in the conference.

Goich shot 80 and received a medal for his scoring average this fall—78.25—good enough for eighth place among all golfers in the conference. "He can be very pound of this accomplishment due to the fact that this has been one of the lowest scoring average seasons on record in the Skyway conference," said Coach Matt Lovelace.

Thomas Rodriguez finished with an 82. That score left him with a 78.75 scoring average, putting him in 11th place just .25 shy of earning an All-Conference medal.

All season long, Paul Douglas has improved on his score. At this outing, he shot his lowest round of the season (80). Akim Bizati (86) and Sean McKernan (92) also contributed. Lake County entered the day with a big lead and ultimately won the conference championship.
