The Cyclone golf team worked through nerves and rainy weather Aug. 24 in their first tournament of the season—Highland "36" Tournament in Freeport—in preparation for the start of conference play this week.
The first 18 holes were rough for the Cyclones as they finished with a collective 353. They were able to pull down their total for the next 18 holes (334) for a 12th place finish. Sean McKernan (86, 80), Thomas Rodriguez (86, 83), James Goich (87, 87), Akim Bizati (95, 84), and Paul Douglas (94, 89) contributed.
