Cyclones meet their match

In their second conference game of the year, the Cyclones met their match and were shut down by the Waubonsee Community College Chiefs, losing the matchup 92-78.

The Cyclones trailed for most of this game with changing leads in the first half. Midway through the half, Zion Fortune stuffed one before Trevon Jones stole and banked a layup to help the Cyclones get ahead. Moraine Valley started to build momentum with a scoring streak from Dontia Johnson. At halftime, the Cyclones trailed by one after Jones hit two at the buzzer. The intensity continued in the second half. Moraine Valley grabbed the lead, but the fighting Chiefs clamored back. Once they took over, the Cyclones lost momentum. Down 69-64 with seven minutes to go, Moraine Valley couldn't hang on and ultimately fell 92-78. Johnson led the offense with 21 points. Jalen Hughes added 20 along with seven assists, and Jones added 14 points and 13 rebounds. Back in the lineup, Ryan Saunders put up 11 and had 12 rebounds.
