Mike Kane returned to lead the Cyclones in the 2022-23 season.

This is his third stint coaching baseball at Moraine Valley. He was head coach from 2014 to 2016 and was an assistant from 1987 to 1988.

Kane has coached college baseball for nine years. His resume includes head junior varsity coach at Lewis University, an assistant at Roosevelt University and assistant at Prairie State College.

The former third baseman spent some time in the minors in the early 1980s. He was a second-round draft pick out of Truman College by the Red Sox and played two seasons in the Boston organization in Class A before a knee injury sidelined him.

When not coaching, Kane still plays baseball in two 50+ leagues and gives hitting lessons in Hickory Hills.
