Cyclones tally more hits in loss

After a brutal outing against McHenry County College yesterday, the two faced off again. Although the Cyclones lost the doubleheader, they were able to plate more runners.

The Cyclones out-hit the Scots 4-3 but were only able to score once in the 4-1 loss. Jake Peterka batted in the lone run, which was Niles Gall (1-for-2). Phillip Hyland and William Curtis earned the other hits. Brett Smith was the losing pitcher after three innings, two runs and two strikeouts.

In the second game of the doubleheader, the Cyclones tallied seven hits thanks to Richie Kiernicki (1-for-1, RBI), Gilbert Jaime-Baez (1-for-2, RBI), Kyel Alexander (1-for-3, 1 run, stolen base), Thomas Moran (1-for-3), Peterka (1-for-3, stolen base), Stephen Insley (1-for-3, 1 run) and Gall (1-for-4). Ryan Czajowski was given the loss after going five innings and allowing three runs on six hits with two strikeouts in the Cyclones' 5-2 loss.
